For Xander’s 31st birthday we went to Coobah on Southport for some Latin fusion described as ‘Cuba, Spain, Brazil meets the Philippines’. It is a small restaurant and I think we overwhelmed them a little with the size of our group even though we had a reservation. After everything was sorted out and we were seated, we ordered up some tasty food.
First we started with a few pitchers of Sangria for the table.
After some deliberation, I decided on the Zarzuela. I have been craving seafood lately and this sounded awesome.
It was quite good 🙂
Mike went with the Cubano sandwich
I believe Tristan ordered a tamale and enjoyed it!
I am having issues with my new camera. A lot of the photos are blurry?
Time for (chocolate) birthday cake! Yum!
After dinner and cake we headed over to Southport Lanes for some bowling. It is a small old school bowling alley that still uses pin boys to reset the pins. Rule #5 made us giggle because we are very mature.
Mmmm. Bowling shoes.
Mike takes a turn. Excellent form!
All this bowling makes you hungry so I ordered some snacks for the group. Onion rings and chips and salsa. Healthy. Their beer special was $3 Magic Hat. I had never tried it before but it was very tasty, kind of sweet.
