Charcoal Steaks on the Grill

4 Jun

The other night I made some charcoal steaks on the grill.  I had never made this particular type of steak before but they looked good and I was surprised at how cheap there were, about 3 dollars.  The interwebz tells me that charcoal steak is chuck arm steak and like most inexpensive cuts of meat just needs a little TLC to taste fabulous.

Charcoal Steak Marinade:

for 6 small steaks

1/4 cup white wine vinegar.  I used tarragon infused white wine vinegar.
2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
dash of lite soy sauce
Salt and fresh ground pepper
dash Garlic salt

Cover steaks completely with marinade and place in fridge.  Let steaks marinate for at least an hour, preferably longer.

To go with the steaks I stir fried some veggies in my wok which included broccoli, bean sprouts, water chestnuts, baby bok choy, green onion stir fried in oil, soy sauce, Chinese 5 spice.

For dessert we each had a chocolate from a local chocolatier, Piron.  These treats were a gift to my hubby for faculty appreciation.  Yum!
